Jobsmith

Privacy policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

In short: everything you enter in Jobsmith — your business details, clients, quotes, jobs, invoices and payments — is stored only on your phone. We don't have servers that hold it, we can't see it, and we don't sell or share it.

Who we are

Jobsmith is made by Jobsmith Apps, a trading name of Yasin Jamil, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the small amount of personal information described below. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email jobsmithapps@gmail.com.

Information you enter in the app

To create quotes, jobs and invoices you type in details such as your business name and address, VAT number, bank details for payment, your clients' names and contact details, job addresses, prices and payments. This information:

Because the information stays on your phone, you are in control of it. You can edit or delete anything in the app at any time, and More → Backup & restore → Erase all data removes all of it. Deleting the app also deletes its data.

Your clients' details are personal information that you are responsible for under data protection law. Jobsmith simply stores them on your phone for you.

Backups

If you make a backup, the app creates a file and lets you save or send it wherever you choose (for example to your own cloud storage or email). We never receive a copy.

Notifications

Reminders (such as quote follow-ups and tomorrow's jobs) are created and scheduled on your phone. They are not sent through our servers. You can turn them off in More → Notifications or in your phone's settings.

Subscriptions and payments

If you subscribe to Jobsmith Pro, the payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies. We never see your card details.

To check whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase details from Apple or Google (such as which plan you bought and when it renews). It does not receive the quotes, invoices, clients or other business information you enter in the app. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

What we don't do

Permissions the app may ask for

Each is used only for the purpose shown and only when you choose to use that feature.

Children

Jobsmith is a business tool and is not aimed at children under 16.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal information, including to access, correct and delete it. As your app data stays on your device, you can do this directly in the app. For anything relating to subscription records held by Apple, Google or RevenueCat, contact us and we'll help. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
